Hannah & Ross
August 2018
I met Hannah at The National Wedding Show, Ross put his trust in her and she booked me there and then so I only met Ross a few weeks before their big day to go through the details and chat about how the photography would work during the day. They were so excited, it was lovely to hear them chat about their plans. Hannah’s slightly Disney obsessed and after our meeting I was really looking forward to the wedding and how she’d subtly incorporated Disney into the theme. They chose Sketchley Grange Hotel to get married as they could get ready there, have the ceremony and party into the night. Autumn is a gorgeous time of year to photograph weddings, there was a bit of a chill in the air but the weather was so good and we were able to take loads of photos outside which was ideal as Sketchley Grange is a beautiful building and the light photographing outside makes for lovely photos.
There were definitely tears in Ross’ eyes when Hannah walked down the aisle, she looked absolutely beautiful (Make up by Chloe McCall) and the ceremony was really lovely, a very emotional selection of readings were read by friends and relatives and I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house when the couple exchanged rings.
After some even more emotional speeches, (Hannah insisted everyone toast with Jagermeister) plenty of food and loads of bubbles everyone gathered to have a go in The Capture Booth, play beer pong and make frequent trips to the bar. I was loathed to drag them away, they were having so much fun but I suggested heading outside to catch the sun setting and managed to take some romantic, atmospheric silhouette photos of this delightful pair. From being nervous about being photographed they got to the point where they didn’t really need any direction to create these beautiful images and we had lots of fun taking them. I’m so pleased I kept an eye on the sunset as I love the set of images I’ve produced and I hope Hannah and Ross do too! I’m so pleased you chose me to photograph your fantastic wedding, you can see how loved you both are by friends and family and it was amazing to be a part of your day, I’m sure this is just the beginning of an incredible adventure for you both.
