Laura & John

August 2018

I was so worried when the heavens opened on the way to this lovely wedding but luckily the sun reappeared so Laura and John got married outside. Their good friend performed the blessing and the views were incredible! They must have spent so long on all the personal touches, it was amazing. They rented a group of cottages nearby so their friends and family could all stay together and extend the celebrations over the long weekend. A great idea as unfortunately the wedding day can fly by so quickly after the long months of planning and organising.

The Cider Barn in Herefordshire is a beautiful venue. They only hold a limited number of weekend weddings over the summer months so if you like the look of it you’ll need to get in there quickly!  It’s a really unique place set in gorgeous countryside, a lovely choice for a wedding. The guests sat on hay bales for the outdoor ceremony which was really intimate and personal.

Lawn games and hula hoops kept the kids (and big kids) entertained all afternoon. Perfect opportunites for me as the photographer to capture natural funny moments which resulted in a gorgeous set of candid photographs. Laura and John were quite self concious and not too keen on posing for photos so we limited the posed shots and they just had fun while I caught them on camera. I always keep an eye out for special moments and little details, I don’t like to miss anything! I made the most of the low sun early evening to get a few romantic photos and gorgeous lens flare.

From the bride…

The photos Amy took of our wedding were perfect. We have so many memories from them. Amy photographed exactly what we asked for and we have had so many compliments about how beautiful (and hilarious) the photos are. Thank you so much!
