Gemma & Steve
February 2019
As a wedding photographer you do worry slightly when photographing a wedding in February as Birmingham weather is so unpredictable. This time last year we were buried in deep snow but this year was warm and sunny. So difficult to predict! This Feb at The Holiday Inn, Bromsgrove felt like a summers day. I headed over to Gemma and Steve’s house in the morning to document Gemma’s bridal preparations. Their kids are super cute so I wasn’t short of lovely moments to photograph.
Gemma and Steve’s VW camper is their pride and joy, camping with the kids, surfing and the beach is a big part of their lives so it made sense for the wedding theme to reflect this. Steve had made a surf board to be signed instead of a guestbook, what an amazing keepsake for after the big day. The stand for the cupcakes was a lighthouse and the cake was in the shape of a camper – of course!
After photographing the ceremony the guests all headed outside for some group photos with the two camper vans. It was so warm nobody wanted to go back in! I explored the Holiday Inn with the happy couple to find some interesting backdrops for their couple photos. After the meal Steve’s best man (their son) made the cutest best man’s speech I’ve ever heard. There were some really lovely moments throughout this very personal wedding and it was amazing the kids were so involved. Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer!
